Hat in the Objectivist Ring

I’m approaching 20 years as an objectivist in ideological proclivity and some may say in personality traits steering me into that space. There are no rituals, group gatherings, or cognitive musts here. Objectivism is a reason, non inclusion based ‘ism’ where you declare yourself as objectivist versus a baptism type arrangement where groups seem to highlight their existence. Just a take it if you wish ideology based on the individual as a first principle, with a tagline of rational self interest supporting the seemingly inseparable group as the spearhead. ‘Fountainhead’ is perhaps more fitting for the objectivist basics. Here is my hat in this fuzzy ring, for most.

My combination of intellectual enquiry into how the world runs, how it should be run, and why people can’t see how we should live has lead me into different pursuits while being mindful of the fuzzy objectivist circle (positive concept intention here). Being a nurse for nearly 20 years and dabbling unsuccessfully in finance (outcome wise for now) and many failed relationships has built a certain reality chassis of world outlook. After 10000ish hours of another personal based intellectual enquiry into health and a further 3000ish hours of trying to prove myself insane in my health discovery has solidified my health chassis more than many could imagine, a robust contribution to health insight I'd like to share. If not accepted by an objectivist audience then maybe the world could benefit as I and close others have in our health.
Coming from decades of a yo-yo weight management failing background, an athlete, and now a deregistered nurse with splintering health issues brings a further incentivised disclosure while providing the content recipient more understanding of my health angle which the world now requires. Objectivism has fallen into a trap of health insights which belong in the unintelligible category of reason, falling too heavily on credentials of health professionals as knowing what is best, because it's science based don't you know. Well, dear objectivists and beyond, health can also be subject to misintergrated or even disintegrated concepts (in the spirit of Leonard Peikoff), in highlighting my knowledge of the objectivist lexicon and now for our health.
So the objectivist out there which values the surgery prescription or the mainstream pharmaceutical complex, you may be in the equivalent space of still thinking drilling a hole in a patient's head will let the evil spirits out. That was science once. Or maybe we should wash our hands before the call to attend to a birth after attending to a cadaver riddled with not so compatible bacteria in the living. A scientific approach that meant an unpleasant death in this story of Doctor to be, but didn't make it, Ignaz Semmelweis 1947. The professionals in the mainstream healthcare complex that reason well will get you out of your health woes, the conscientious and self proclaimed objectivist will think. If your well rounded critical thinking MD subscribes to blames you, your genes, lifestyle choices, and luck, and collect $200, dear objectivist, you are barking up a tree that's a light post.
There is a chassis of concepts which are building in this health space which will give you decades of further productive life. I urge the grandiose objectivist which doesn't look beyond allopathic medicine, and if you don't realise this is only one approach to health which performs best as a triage and emergency to sustain life then you need to broaden your concept formation. It is a act of faith to be identifying an MD as skilled in their health practice by proclaiming this allopath is science based and therefore best suited and best reasoned for solving your health woes.
I get that even my approach could be classed the same, my own faith leap. My faith leap is based on 13000 hours and forever increasing. My supposed faith leap is happy to be back peddled if my health convictions are proved wrong. The allopathic doctor when proved wrong has to double down on wrong concepts to preserve their own income and professional field, a rational survival response, but the health seeker is required to be honest in their own pursuit. I hope some of these insights will spark a better rational self interest endeavour versus a mimicking of rational self interest which many an objectivist find themselves.
